On the morning of November 25, the Vietnam-China Red River Economic Corridor Cooperation Conference opened in Mong Tu City, Hong Ha District, Yunnan Province, China.
Based on the consensus on common perceptions between the two countries“senior leaders, delegates speaking at the conference agreed to promote the connecting and leading role of the two countries” foreign affairs to boost economic, trade, cultural, and tourism cooperation between localities along the Red River Corridor.
Opinions affirmed that this is a practical event ahead of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China friendly relations. This is also the kick-off for the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.
In the presence of Comrade Wang Hao, Deputy Governor of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, and Comrade Huang Mingshan, Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming, and representatives of localities along the Red River corridor, the heads of delegations from Honghe Prefecture, Kunming City, Dali Prefecture, Chuxiong Prefecture, Yuxi City, and Wenshan Prefecture of China and from Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Vinh Phuc Provinces, Hanoi City, Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh Province, Thai Binh Province, and Nam Dinh Province of Vietnam took the stage to press the button to launch the "Red River Festival—Vietnam-China Red River Basin Cooperation Week.".
Cultural exchange activities, economic, trade, and tourism fairs will be held from November 25 to December 1, 2024.
