In order to promote, introduce and sell products participating in the province's “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program to consumers, over the past time, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated with all levels, sectors, localities, and subjects to deploy synchronously solutions to expand the market, focusing on introducing the products to the system of supermarkets and convenience stores for long-term and stable distribution, display and consumption.
The province currently has 139 products and groups of products that have been recognized as meeting the provincial OCOP standards, including one five-star product, 46 four-star products, three-star 92 products and groups of products. Standard OCOP products are mainly in the food group, accounting for over 80%. These are products with specific characteristics of each locality, clear origin, assured quality, and reasonable prices for consumers.
Determining that OCOP product promotion, advertising and introduction activities are an important factor, contributing to promoting production, connecting supply and demand, seeking and expanding consumption markets, over the years, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented activities for promoting trade, advertising and introducing OCOP products with focus on potentials and strengths of each product and group of products. To make consumers know about OCOP products, participation in promotion conferences and agricultural fairs inside and outside the province is “exploited” to the fullest by the Department of Industry and Trade, such as participating in conferences to connect trade between tea suppliers in the Northeast and export enterprises, conferences to connect supply and demand of OCOP products and agricultural products of Phu Tho province...
Mr. Dang Viet Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: "Participating in promotion, advertising and introduction activities for OCOP products is not only an opportunity to build brands, promote and introduce the products to corporate organizations, distributors, supermarkets and convenience stores in the province, but also an opportunity to find partners, expand product consumption markets, especially fastidious markets with strict requirements”.
Defining e-commerce as an effective tool to introduce and promote OCOP products with low cost, regardless of space and time, the Industry and Trade sector has made full use of its advantages to promote products through maintaining and putting OCOP products on e-commerce platforms such as: Giaothuong.net.vn; nongsan.phutho.gov.vn; Agritech Expo; Postmart-VNPost and on the national OCOP product management and monitoring system (Ocopvietnam.gov.v), developing an e-commerce trading floor, namely tradetrade.net.vn with 309 booths, and 956 products and services.
